After much investigation, testing and, well, more testing, I've started my Birmingham game. Firstly I'd like to mention the changes made to the database, before any allegations arrive at my feet.

Nathan Redmond (added to youth setup with ability set at 95 potential set to 165) - this kid will be a star, just wait and see.

With this in mind and considering that after these changes Big Eck still had around 6-8 million left in the coffers, I set myself a transfer budget of £6.5million.

How in the name of god did he get so good? And more to the point..how can I stop him from scoring against my team?

The year, 2017. Burnley(my team) are now a Premiership and European superforce. Having won the premiership 3 times and the champions league once I find it more and more difficult each year to compete and keep the momentum up. The obvious challenges arise, teams learning your formation, learning your players and the sheer luck of being knocked out of cup tournaments.

This year seems almost safe.

However, I am specifically unhappy with my teams performance against my next rivals in the league: Manchester United. Heres our last 3 results:

My formation vs ManUtd (I use a tweaked version of Mr Houghs Dominance)

I know that a WDL isn't a bad combination, but its my performance I am more worried about. Really I need to find a way to counter this team and Wellbeck to stand a chance next season. Or in general to stop conceding so many goals in a match or two. My team in general only manages to win games by outscoring, we are literally incapable of stalling out and defending a lead.

I play two fast defenders against teams with a pacey front line, one of which was man marking wellbeck in the last match. I defend deep and have also tried each of my fast defenders to zonal mark previously. Instructions are set to mark tightly, tackle hard and to show on to his weak foot, but this cannot stop him!

Does anyone here have any suggestions or experience dealing with wellbeck performing like this? Or a similar scenario? I'm currently about 3/4's through my first season at Liverpool and am sitting around 3rd .. I got taken over during the Jan transfer window and was unable to bring in any new faces other than Jadson on a free transfer.

Torres is a beast as I'm sure you will know, I play a lone striker with Gerrard sitting behind. Ngog is currently not performing and I seem to lack with out the mighty Torres.

Ive been eyeing up Lukalaku (apologies if spelt wrong) as a long term replacement but need good cover until he can start to come through ....

I don't have any idea on a transfer budget as of yet but I'm hoping a good league finish will allow me to squeeze some funding from the new chairman.

Any ideas on good lone strikers ?? I've been eyeing up Defoe as a back up so far.

The Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR) will be published by the government on 20th October, and I thought a thread to track people's opinions and responses to cuts would be good. Do you disagree with cuts on principle? Are you worried about how you or friends/family will be affected? Are you a union member, and if so, would you vote to strike if you felt you weren't getting a fair deal from the cuts? Henry among others has mentioned 'mass protest' resulting from these cuts. Will you take part in such protest?

And, I guess most pertinently of all, what do you think should be cut and what should be protected at all costs?
