Also this result is just for you
No, i won't change clubs. I only have Portugal loaded and when i get bored i will put an end to this game.

And i have to say i'm a bit disappointed that you only put 7 past Dinamo.

7 goals and your still not happy?

Did you ever win the Champions League with Steaua on this version?

This is worth posting just because I am so incredibly gutted.

This is my record at the end of the year. Just one goal away from scoring 100 goals by the end of december.

It's "you're".

And for the 2nd question, the answer is no.

Anyway, impressive defensive record...i don't know why, but i never managed to get a defense working with less than 4 men.

Ok so i got my new computer today and as it a new computer this mean new save ( i could not be bothered to copy the old saves to new computer). Anyway i had played a few journeyman saves in Portugal and i thought well Boavista look like a challenge, so i thought why don't i give it a go with them. I will be posting an update later tonight.

Great update there Tudor. An enjoyable read and your success has been hugely impressive. One point of interest, any reason why Marco Verratti has never been called up to the Italy squad?

Thanks.

No idea about Verratti, international call-ups seem to be a bit messed up in my game.

Anyway, my next update(s) will come next week, as i'm away for the weekend...

Forza, just wondering..do you play with 3 defenders in all games(the tactic in your screenshot), or just when playing against 2 strikers? I like the formation, as 1 less defender means you can play one more midfielder or attacker

I tend to play with the same formation in every game on this save as I was tweaking and pefecting this tactic as opposed to researching reactive tactics.

The middle DC has the freedom to step out from defence when we are in possession so even if the AI are playing one up front we still only really have one extra man there.

So is it time for my epic end of second season review detailing wh ascent to stardom on the back of a monumental Champions League win for Porto? Alas it is not.

Suffice to say my second season ended in apathetic ignominy with my resignation being handed over to the chairman at the end of June.

The reason for my departure? I had just completed possibly the greatest season in terms of pure results that I have ever experienced. We went through the entire campaign only drawing a single match and indeed we were only defeated once - unfortunately that both those results were in the Champions League quarter finals where we lost 1-0 away to Barcelona before an 89th minute Messi equaliser robbed us of the chance to take the game to extra time in the return.

After a second round of hugely dissapointing newgens I decided that I couldn't take another year of domestic domination with little effort so I tendered my resignation.

I have however taken a new job elsewhere on the save but I will be updating elsewhere.

It looks like this thread has become quiet again, so i'm going to try to get it back to life. Therefore, i'm going to write a season review and a season preview, 2 in 1.

Season 2020/2021 review:

Liga Sagres:

As you can see, we won it comfortably in the end, as usual. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to reach "perfection" this time either. A 3-3 away draw against Porto, where they scored a late equalizer, in the first part of the season and 2 consecutive 0-1 home losses in the second part of the season, against Porto (again) and Vitoria Guimaraes were the only games we dropped points in.

Domestic Cups:

We started the season well with a trophy won in the very first game, the Portuguese Super Cup, which we won 1-0 against arch-rivals Porto. Romelu Lukaku grabbing a late winner for us.

The Portuguese Cup was a real disappointment. We got a pretty tough opponent in the very first round, Vitoria Setubal, away from home. Nevertheless, judging by the players we had at our disposal compared to theirs, we should've won comfortably, but still they kept us at bay for 120 minutes for a 1-1 draw and then stole the win after the penalty shootout.

The Portuguese League Cup was pretty much straightforward as usual. We had no problem in winning the group, beating Braga (2-0 at home), Fatima (4-1 at home) and Santa Clara (3-0 away) before trouncing Sporting 4-0 at home in the semis and Porto 5-1 in the final.

European and International Cups:

First up, the European Super Cup, thanks to winning the Champions League last season. Despite being far superior, we had to wait for the extra-time to score and beat Atalanta 2-0.

Not a big deal in the Club World Championship either: a 4-0 in the semis against FC Osaka of Japan was followed by a 2-1 win over Chivas of Mexico in the final.

In the Champions League, we topped a group consisting of Sevilla (4-0 at our place and a disappointing 0-3 away loss, but we were already qualified and without some key players), Rnagers (5-3 at home and 2-0 away) and Rosenborg (8-0 away and and 2-1 at home). Then we dispatched of Olympique Marseille (1-1 away and 3-1 at home), Sevilla again (2-2 away and 1-0 at home) and Arsenal (double win: 2-1 at home and 3-2 away) before facing Manchester United in the final. Unfortunately we weren't at our best and lost the game 0-1.

Season 2021/2022 preview:

I was quite active on the transfer market this year and below you can find all the wheelings and dealings that i made this summer:

Basically i looked to bring in some fresh blood, replacing the players that are getting older and also looking to cash in for them while i still could. Unfortunately i'm pretty sure now that i could get better prices for most of them. Below you can find screenies of the players i brought in:

Jose Luis Segura - i see this deal more or less like as a swap with Atletico Madrid: i gave them a 29-year-old Neymar and they gave me this 21-year-old world-class striker and an extra 4 mil euro. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

Mario Dominici - looking back i think i may have overspent a bit here and i feel there could've been a couple of less expensive targets out there. He is tall, strong and knows his game, but he's a bit slow for my liking.

Roman Sukhov - my record transfer signing, he'd better be worth the money. Still young and with all the future ahead of him.

Oscar Lainez - 20 mil euro for a player aged 18 may seem madness, but considering that he's labelled as a wonderkid and, of course, with a lot of time to improve further, this may not be a bad deal at all.

Anyway, we kicked the season off with a 5-2 win against Santa Clara in the Super Cup. The Champions League is a tough one, with Bayern, Valencia and Rennes - surely this year's group of death.
