Default very stranger but super player...

Ok this guy is a regen , but it just don't seem right to me. He scores from anywhere and when he shoots the ball just seems to 'ping' into the back of then net. Anyone else had this happen? , he has scored 22 goals in 4 matches for me now and I think something must be corrupt in his data. I have saved a match with him scoring a few (semak is name of the player) , he is playing in centre midfield , watch his goals if you can load the highlights , the ball just goes too fast , bug or just stupidly good player??

here is a link to the match highlights

I've never seen such a thing happening. Are you using 7.0.2 patch?

reminds me of the old champ manager game on the amiga where u play 1 sweeper, 4 midfielders and 5 strikers. each striker used to finish the season with at least 40-50 goals, or even the old pc version where you get the striker to manmark the keeper.

I'm using the latest patch.
He cost me 7.5m from Rubin
His only preffered move is 'Shoots from distance'

It has spoilt my game to be honest , its boring as hell playing with him and I would be dumb to sell him as any team with him in it would be unbeatable. I beat Barca 6-1 away , Gothenburg 11-0 at home , Man Utd 8-1 at home. Time to start another game

I still don`t believe this, and will prolly never do, till I see with my own eyes. Look his international caps, WAY worst than in the club. And a player can do everything he is doing, if the adversary has no goalkeeper. In twelve league games, the team scored AT LEAST 40 goals, and he is not the only with super performances, as he doesn`t have all man of the matches.

About Cup and Continental, the team scored at least 21 goals in 6 games, he is not the only one scoring goals.

He is technically very good, but not physically and mentally.

This smells a bit fishy to me as well, even though he's got good long shots, finishing and flair stats.
Sure you're not taking control of the opposition and placing a scarecrow or something in the goal?

Rather than having to sell him or start a new game just place him your reserves or something. Or sell him to a shit team if you can. The AI might not select him all the time.

you could downlaod the in game editor and change his stats round and preffered moves so he's not as good.

After much searching I found an ingame editor and decided to take your advice Morey, however in doing so I found a few strange things...

1st : In the 'ingame' editor the players values are valued between 1 and 100 , unlike the ingame stats of 1-20.

2nd : Mr Semak had 2 strange values when I looked at his stats , his flair was 101 and he had 29 in one of his positions (am 29 iirc) , when all of the other players I looked at had position ratings of 1-20.

Intrigued by this I started a new game and using the editor I gave a RB in my team a position rating of 29 (rb) and a flair rating of 101 , I also gave him the same preffered move as semak (shoots from distance) and the same current and potential rating as him 167 - 182. I have only watched 1 game with this player and he scored from his own box (105 yard strike). I have no idea if its the 101 flair or the 29 position which causes this , Ill try them both independantly later.

For the record Semak finished the season with 173 goals , I wont post any more SS as they will just be disputed. Anyway if you have the ingame editor try the 101 flair , 29 position and see what happens for you - BUT dont do it on your regular game it will just spoil it for you.

After 2 limited 'experiments' I can only assume its the positional value that makes a difference. It seems the positional value is used as a modifier to all stats depending on what position the player is in at any given time on the pitch. Ofc a value of 29 as opposed to the usual max of 20 is going to give a player very high stats. Oh well problem solved , an anomaly(sp?) in the regen routine gave me a silly player

OK, tried this with my game, Jesus Christ, I tried some lame player for it (IIRC Kenny Strickland) and the first goal of the game was a 90 yard strike!

The player kept making this ultra long-range shots that were always: "The keeper just got his fingertips to it."

He didnt score any more goals but made 7-8 retarded shots and got a rating of 7.

i just tried it with my extremely underachieving sturridge.
he gave 2 Great assists wich he never does.
and he kicked in a great free kick which he also never does.

and he shot from our own side of the field at goal 2 great shots wich where catched by the goalie with luck.
and his shots where unbelievable fast.
he dribbled past 4 strikers before lobbing to martins.

maybe we just found a new sort of cheat.

OK, some info for you guys.
1. Also good to edit his stats so that he has: shoots with power, and likes to curl ball.

2. Edit his physical stats so he has 20 for strength and get him tutored by a powerful striker (Alan Smith for me).

That ought to get him a hattrick in the next game. I dont condole "cheating" with savegame editors but its pretty funny looking at a lame striker beating worldclass defenders.

Im using the newest patch, but I quickly got bored with this experiment as there is no challenge in playing Football Manager if you have a super-player.

Shouldn't this player be incredibly injury prone? The positional rating multiplies all his stats, so surely injury proneness is at 60 out of 20 or something?

Only if he already had 20 for injury proneness surely? If he only had a 1, surely it would just become 2 or 3 or whatever? I don't know.

I doubt the injury prone stat would be modified , I'm pretty sure the game uses the position stat as a modifier for different positions ie say a CB had a finishing stat of 20 , if you played him up front as a FC he would never be as good as a FC with the same stat as he only has 0 as his FC position if you see what I mean. So using this logic the injury prone stat would never be modified as he is no more likely to get injured playing up front has playing in defence - hope that makes sense

I have been mucking around testing this and so far as I can tell it doesn't have the same effect every time I do it. . . . . .

Also while I have looked at a few random players I have noticed more odd stat's, has anyone noticed anything odd?

So is 101/100 a bit like the supposed -1 stat? Meaning that it will NEVER go down, even with a big injury?

EDIT: I have no idea about the editors, I am just curious.

So using this logic the injury prone stat would never be modified as he is no more likely to get injured playing up front has playing in defence - hope that makes sense
Yeah it does

Kinda like Zlatan Ibrahimovic for me in FM06. I dont know what in God's name it was, but he scored like it was going out of style. I literally considered it being some sort of bug in the game. He'd have like 30 goals by the beginning of November.

Check out Cristiano Ronaldo, he has dribbling 101 and flair 101. Might be the reason why he scores many goals as a winger.

im guessing the 101 stat goes to a player that is regarded as the best in the world at those skills, so that there is a noticable difference between him and another player with 20 dribbling. just a theory mind

personally i believe that the 101 value represents a stat that doesnt change whatever happens? not quite sure how correct i am, but it would seem a logical answer.
