Default XML PARSING ERROR not well-formed (Invalid token) at line 1 of view - vi - sio id 188

Dear All,

Sorry if this is the incorrect place to post this but I've looked everywhere.

Recently on football manager 2010, when clicking onto my squad or the transfer list this message comes up.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++
XML PARSING ERROR

not well-formed (Invalid token) at line 1 of view - vi - sio id 18816155874 -xml.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++

The game runs fine apart from this but i have to click 'ok' on the msg whenever it comes up (everytime i look at my squad screen or the transfer market) MOST ANNOYING and TIME CONSUMING !!!!!

Please can someone help? I've looked everywhere for solutions but it seems quite specific.

Basically, it sounds like some file has been corrupted, and that's what's causing your problem. Only solution that I can think of is the obvious reinstall, even if it might be a bit time consuming.

You could check player with id 18816155874 and see whats wrong, maybe some custom gfx?

Else you can check here:

http://www.thedugout.tv/community/sh...ad.php?t=50962

It's for 09 but the solution may be similar.

Yep, if it's an xml parsing error do this:

If you have a shortcut on your desktop you can do the following:

1. Right-click on the FM shortcut.

2. Properties

3. In the "Target" field, add the --reset_preferences command line option after "fm.exe", so it should look like this:
"C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\fm.exe" --reset_preferences

4. OK.

After the game is working remove the extra command from the shortcut.

If you don't have a shortcut to the game create one.

I know this thread is dead(ish) but I'm hoping someone might stumble across it. I've gotten the same error, but I'm running the game off steam, any suggestions?
