How to Create a Config.xml
FM Graphics: How to Create a Config.xml
For those wanting to create, or download, graphics you need a config file to make the graphics work in game. Many of the graphics you download will include a config, so you’ve got nothing to worry about, but many (including myself) sometimes just post the images, i.e of my kits, so you’d have to create your own config file.

What is a Config file?
A config file is a xml that makes the images or graphics you have work in the game. They basically tell the game where to find the graphics (where they are saved) and where to display them.

The Easy Option
The easy option by far is to download a program. This is the option I’d recommend, as it really is a time saver. There are a number of programs out there that are easy to use and make you a config in no time.

The program I’d recommend is FmXml, which is free to download.

Select what type of graphic you wish to use, and click 'select file and generate.'

You’ll see this window, and you should select the graphic you require. The above image should then appear; if so- you’re done. Make sure you put this config.xml file in the same folder as the graphics they represent.

Doing This Manually
You can, however, make the config from scratch, through doing it manually. First thing you need to do is open a blank file, in a text editor e.g Notepad or Word. Any web text editor can be used as well.

Regardless of what graphic you’re making a config for, you need this piece of text:

As I said, this needs to be in every single config, so don’t ever change it. The important area you’ll be looking at is between the red and blue areas. This is where you’re going to enter your line.
