PPM's can be split into 7 categories:
- Defending
- Discipline
- Finishing
- Movement
- Passing
- Technique
- Instinctive
The first six categories are PPM's that a player can be instructed to learn via a private chat (found in the interaction menu of a players profile) while the final category contains PPM's that cannot be taught. These PPM's are instilled in a players profile from either the start of the game or their creation if they happen to be generated player.
Through this guide, we'll take a look at each PPM in more detail. Looking at what it actually does, the positive/negative effects of each PPM, the required attributes to make full use of the PPM and finally, which positions these PPM's are best suited for.
Marks Opponents Tightly
Meaning: When defending a player with this PPM will mark his opponent closer than normal, almost touch tight
Positives: Can restrict the opposition player’s impact on the game/phase of play
Negatives: Can result in the marker being turned and quickly being out of position
Attributes Required: Concentration, Marking, Anticipation
Best Suited Positions: Centre Backs, Full Backs
Dives Into Tackles
Meaning: The player will throw himself into tackles trying to get the ball at any cost.
Positives: If a player has to make a desperate challenge to stop a goalscoring opportunity he will?
Negatives: The likelihood of the player committing a foul is increased hugely. Especially for players with a high aggression rating.
Attributes Required: Tackling, anticipation, decisions, positioning
Best Suited Position: Defenders and defensive midfielders. Players with low aggression stand a better chance of the tackle being clean.
Does Not Dive Into Tackles
Meaning: The player will look to stay on his feet when tackling the opposition. A more careful way for your defender to tackle the opposition.
Positives: The player runs less chance of giving away a freekick, getting booked or sent off.
Negatives: If the player needs to make a last ditch tackle to stop a goalscoring opportunity, he is less likely to do so.
Attributes Required: Tackling, decisions, positioning
Best Suited Position: Anyone. Strikers not diving into tackles won't give away needless freekicks.
Argues With Officials
Meaning: The player will contrst decisions made by the referee.
Positives: A weak referee will be intimidated.
Negatives: Some referees will book or send off the player for dissent.
Attributes Required: Aggression, influence.
Best Suited Position: Anyone. Captains maybe?
