Meaning: The player won't try long range passes, preferring to keep it simple and find a closer team mate.
Positives: Low risk passes increase the likelihood of keeping the ball and not losing possession.
Negatives: If the short passing option is covered, you run the risk of the ball being intercepted or the receiving player being tackled straight away.
Attributes Required: Decisions, technique, teamwork, anticpation.
Best Suited Position: Players that lack the ability to pass over longer distances or players with little attacking prowess. Central defenders and defensive midfielders will use this to pass to more creative players.

Tries Killer Balls Often
Meaning: The player will look to play incisive passes through the oppositions defence for another attacking player to run onto.
Positives: A well executed killer ball could result in a goalscoring opportunity.
Negatives: A poorly executed through ball is likely to be intercepted by a defender or goalkeeper.
Attributes Required: Passing, technique, creativity, anticipation, flair, teamwork.
Best Suited Position: Creative midfielders.

Looks For Pass Rather Than Attempting To Score
Meaning: When given the opportunity to take a shot at goal, the player will instead look for a pass to another team mate
Positives: Reduces wasteful shots
Negatives: Might give up chance of an easy-ish goal
Attributes Required: Passing, decisions, technique
Best Suited Positions: Defensive minded midfielders, players with low finishing/composure that find themselves near the box often

Stops Play
Meaning: When a player with this PPM receives the ball, he’ll look to take the ‘sting’ out of a game by lowering the tempo to a stop before deciding where to pass the ball
Positives: In a low tempo tactic, the player is more considered when choosing his pass and will likely make the better decision for that situation
Negatives: In a high tempo tactic, the player can kill of potential counter attacks or quick players resulting in team mates running offside or out of position. Can lead to being tackled if they dwell on the abll too long
Attributes Required: Passing, Decisions, Anticipation
Best Suited Positions: Central midfielders

Tries Long Range Freekicks
Meaning: Instead of laying the ball of short to a team mate, the player will look to take a shot on goal from distance
Positives: Can lead to spectacular goals or chances for other players
Negatives: Can result in high number of shots at goal and not overly accurate
Attributes Required: Long Shots, Technique, Free Kick Taking
Best Suited Positions: Your free kick taker!

Tries Long Range Passes
Meaning: Instead of short, accurate passes a player possessing this PPM will look for long distance passes to team mates
Positives: Can change the tempo of play and player in possession very quickly
Negatives: May not adhere to team instructions/style of play
Attributes Required: Passing, Creativity, Technique, Decisions
Best Suited Positions: Creative central midfielders, Wingers

Likes To Switch Ball To Other Flank
Meaning: When the player is in possession of the ball, he will look to switch play to a player on the other side of the pitch
Positives: Gives the team a quick change of direction for attacks
Negatives: Can be intercepted and therefore a loss of possession when a simpler pass may have been more suitable
Attributes Required: Creativity, Passing, Crossing
Best Suited Positions: Creative central midfielders, Wingers, Full Backs.


Possesses Long Flat Throw
Meaning: The player has a bullet like throw that flies in at a low angle and at a higher speed than a floated throw in
Positives: Can be used to target specific players leading to knock downs and/or direct goals
Negatives: Can be one dimensional and allows the defence to react to the same type of throw in
Attributes Required: Long Throws, Strength, Technique
Best Suited Positions: Your throw in taker!

Avoids Using Weaker Foot
Meaning: When posed with the opportunity to use their weaker foot a player will instead try to shift it on to their more comfortable foot
Positives: More accurate passes/crosses/finishes when the player is terribly one footed
Negatives: May not be the right decision and can cause chances to be missed
Attributes Required: Anything that determines that players role in the team
Best Suited Positions: One footed wingers/strikers/full backs
