Description

San Marino, the eternal minnows of Europe. This tiny country completely landlocked by Italy, isn't exacly known to the world for its footballing (or any other sport) power, but hey, some people enjoy a challenge, and coupled with some interesting and crazy rules, this can do for an interesting game.

There is only fifteen football teams in San Marino, and only 3 competitions. The Campionato Sammarinese (the league) consists on said 15 teams being randomly split into 2 groups, one with 8 and the other with 7 teams. Teams play other teams from their group twice and from the other group once, for a total of 20 or 21 games depending on the group. Top three of each group then play a complex double elimination playoff system.
The Coppa Titano is the national cup. The same fifteen teams are split into 3 groups of 5 where they play eachother twice. The top two of each group and the two best third placed teams then proceed to the quarter finals.
Finally there's the Trofeo Federale, a tournament akin to the Community Shield where both winners and runner ups of last year's league and cup play a small cup system.
